OFFICIALS
     
  The ASA has been looking at the role of officials in the sport and new sweeping changes are being introduced.. These changes are due to come into effect during 2007. The changes will include the licencing of officials, and a total new route to becoming a Referee, where instead of the current two part written examination, the new syllabus will include practical experience, theory examination and practical assessment. All Timekeeper, Judge and Starter courses and exams will be run via the Regional/County organisers and a new examination structure will be introduced in 2007    
    Referee's Exams The closing date for these is the 31st January. Therefore if you want to become a Referee in 2007, you must act now !!! Link to ASA website    
       
       
 

ACM

The ACM took place last night at Bourne Hall. Congratulations to our New President Mrs Jane Cook, and to Mrs Dana Haugli our new Vice President. Thank you to Tracy Pearson for the work she put in as our President Last Year.

Dr Roger King was made an Honorary Life.Member for over 40 continuous years service to the County

   
       
       
       
 
National County Team Championships
   
       
  Eight Different Clubs represented the County at this years Competition. The County narrowly held onto its place in the first division. full report

Two more Surrey Clubs have gained swim21 Status with in the last Month. Congratulations to Leander and also Cheam Marlins Swimming Clubs in getting their awards .

   
       
       
 
Leatherhead Swimming Club gets SWIM21 at Performance Level
   
       
  The County would like to congratulate Leatherhead Swimming Club for gaining this prestigous status and leading the County in gaining this accredidation. It reflects the Club's commitment to providing a quality swimming environment for its swimmers. All of the Clubs Management , Coaching Staff, helpers and athletes should take justifiable pride in their achievement --- more->

SCWP&SA Annual Dinner & Dance
   
 

The evening was a great success with great food and wine. The President on behalf of the County was pleased to welcome the President of South East Region, Terry Ward. as well as many friends and presidents from other Counties. The President expressed her thanks to Mrs Veronica Beaney who not only served as President herseld, but also organised the evening so well. Veronica is now standing down from swimming, and the County would like to thank her for her many years of service. Our Loss is the Golf Courses gain! The evening 's toastmaster was our very own secretary, Steve Cook, who lead the celebrations and the "taking of wine" with aplomb.
