Surrey Comes a respectable 11th at the British Gas National Team Championships

A team of 24 swimmers took the long trip up to Ponds Forge at Sheffield to represent the County. The team swum well with outstanding performance from Chloe Bean in the (14/15 100m Breast) whose time in the first heat was such a PB (5 secs) that only one swimmer from the faster heat could better it, and Rachel Solway who in a thrilling well timed finish, took the 16/17 Breaststroke Title. This was supplemented by many other very good performance from a well disciplined team that it was a delight to be with.  Thank you also to Richard Willis  and Ann Van Beukelen for the their support as Surrey Officials, Our president Joan Swain for supporting, and Tracy Pearson for organising.

    URGENT
'From September 2010 for Level 1 and Level 2 Meets, all Judges and above must be licensed. Unlicensed, qualified timekeepers can still be used.
From September 2011 the minimum qualification for Level 1 and Level 2 Meets will be Licensed Judge 1.'

As of September 2010 all officials at a Level 1 or 2 meet are required to be licensed. As a County we need to have more licensed officials to run not only our championships, but to officiate at the various level 1 or 2 meets that are put on by our Clubs. If your are a J1 or higher, please get your license before we find that we find that we can not use our swimmers times for Regional or National qualification.
To get an application form please go the British swimming website ( here) or if you have any questions or are interested in becoming an official, please contact Di Gamble @ bobdigamble@aol.com
